BC of China long history, you can said we all east Asia country got influence by chinese custom & cultor. my opinion about dai here is not "adult". dai (chin) mean big, or old (lao), reverse to dai is xiao. chin ppl like to using xiao/dai a lot. like younger ppl get on there name a lot a xiao, meaning little/young and mostly girls get calling xiao + their name, its similar to JPN calling girls with "-chan". So dai here meaning more for old or higher position, its meaning more BIG/GREAT here, for example: if some1 speaking to some1 with higher position as them self: in chin using like speech like this " little(xiao)" me great the "BIG/GREAT(dai)" sir. wortenia is a JPN manga, but they using similar words as chin too
